Stem cell breast augmentation vs natural breast augmentation
Thursday, March 10th, 2011Most think that natural breast augmentation is the same as stem cell breast augmentation. However, there is one big difference between the two breast enhancement procedures which is the focus on this article.
In terms of similarity, both stem cell breast augmentation and natural breast augmentation uses the fats from the patient’s body for injection into her breast. Using such an approach has the benefit of non rejection from the body to the injections. If external compound are injected, there is also the risk of rejection.
The main difference lies in how the fats are treated after they have been obtained through procedures such as laser liposuction. For natural breast augmentation, the fats are filtered once they have been removed and injected directly into the breast area. The term ‘nature’ is used because no breast implants are being injected.
For stem cell breast augmentation, the filtered fats will be mixed with some stem cells. The mixture is what is injected into the breast. The main reason for this is is to improve the survival rates of the fatty cells. It is believed that stem cells will ensure that the fatty cells can integrate with the breast so that they can create their own blood supple. This has the effect of increasing the longevity of the fatty cells which means the effects of the surgery will last longer as well.
According to Dr. Todd Malan, a a cosmetic surgeon from Scottsdale, AZ, “There are studies that are underway and we need to do more studies to gather all of the information we need. Now we’re looking at more ways and creative ways that we can use these stem cells to our advantage.”
